AP/AR Clerk

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an AP/AP Clerk to join our expanding finance department here at Westhab, Inc. and support our team in delivering on our mission of Building Communities. Changing Lives.  This position will support the accounts receivable and accounts payable function.  The ideal candidate must be a quick learner, comfortable in fast paced environments, must work well independently as well as on a team, and must be dependable.  


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Included but are not limited to:

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:

  • Daily bank deposits using a scanner and maintenance of deposit records.  Periodic travel to the bank for deposit and other banking activity.
  • Cash application to tenant rent accounts and corporate accounts
  • Monthly reconciliation of daily deposits to general ledger
  • Generate monthly rent billing 
  • Assist with processing tenant rent adjustments
  • Support Grant Accountant in administration of security deposit accounts and tenant write-offs

Account Payable Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable, which includes coding and processing vendor invoices
  • Entry of Con Ed invoices and upload into AP system
  • Review and enter vendor invoices and employee reimbursements
  • Maintain vendor files and vendor invoice filing
  • Responsible for permanent file maintenance and storage of accounting records
  • Enter and generate monthly payroll journal entry.  Maintain health insurance allocation database and generate monthly invoices for AP entry
  • Support Accounts Payable Coordinator with vendor account analysis

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associates Degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.  1-2 years’ work experience preferably in an office setting.  Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.  Proficient with Office including Excel and Word.
